Has anyone had a MUA after a TKR? I am at 11 1/2 weeks and even though I have done everything they have asked, exercises and PT 3 X a week, I am still not straight and only have about 100% bend. PT can get a few more degrees but have hit a hard wall and not progressed any for last 2 1/2 weeks. They talked to surgeon and said “extremely firm infield”. I am scheduled for the MUA on 4-13 and don’t know exactly what to expect as far as pain, and limitations afterwards. Any help or information would be great.

MUA is a necessary evil in many cases - so I have been told.

I had it 4 1/2 weeks ago and it was evil - a necessary one since it worked. the pain was terrible - back to pain pills every few hours, walker, ice and elevation and pT every day including day of MUA and for 14 consecutive days. still not straight but have a bend of 124 degrees.
