Hi All!
My name is Rosey and I went for TKR on my right knee on October 25th! The surgery went very well and about 3 hours post surgery, a Physical Therapist came in to take me to My first Rehab class! I dressed with her help and I needed to go to restroom first so she got the walker , chose not to put The immobilizer on my leg ( I had spinal anesthesia) and helped me to my feet and I walked the 8 feet to the restroom in my hospital room! At the threshold of the bathroom, I felt my right ankle turn in and then my leg buckled and I collapsed! She sat me down but had me try again after 5 minutes! Again buckled leg! They immediately took me to X-ray and after a 3 hour wait my surgeon came to me to say it was not good news! My right femur had broken lengthwise and I would need surgery again the next day! So within 36 hours I had two big surgeries! As you all can imagine I have been set back 4-6 weeks from doing the knee rehab and PT that I so desperately need! I am anemic and lost a good amount of blood with both surgeries! I stayed in hospital for 7 days and received 6 transfusions! I am now in a Rehabilitation Center trying to heal and do the very best I can! I have advanced osteoporosis in all my joints and spine and my left knee is every bit as damaged as my right was before surgery! So since I am non weight bearing on my surgical leg, you can imagine how hard it is to suppport my body weight on one damaged knee/leg! I fear another break could occur! I go between depression, anger and acceptance and a drive to get out of here and work harder than ever! I could use some positive feedback folks! Thankyou and regards to all, rosey❤️

Wow Rosie, I am so very sorry that you have had to go through all this! I can't even begin to imagine going through another surgery the day after a TKR. The first thing I thought of though is that I'm glad you were in the hospital and had someone with you at the time you fell. I will definitely be praying for strength for you and for a quick recovery on both procedures!

Hang in there. I know you've heard that probably a million times. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
