It’s been almost 6 months for me (I had bilateral TKR on Oct.1, 2019) and still the stiffness and heaviness and the feeling that rubber bands are wrapped around my knees are an issue. The first few weeks we awful!! The pain and depression almost unbearable. I’m waiting for the feeling of being normal again. My flexion is great and PT went well. I still wake up to pain and stiffness in the morning but as soon as I get going the pain is ok. Stiffness happens when they are in one position for a period of time then trying to move. It’s still very frustrating. Dr. says everything looks good in the x-rays and I’m doing great. He says it can take up to a year to feel normal but I’m not sure if they will ever feel normal again. I still have pain going up and down stairs which is frustrating because that’s one of the reasons I had the surgery. So I’m still taking it one day at a time and hoping by the end of this year things will be much better. It was definitely a brutal surgery though and not for the faint of heart. I’m glad I did them both at the same time or I probably would not have done the second one.

It's now July 2021, I wonder how you're feeling now with the stiffness and pain? I had bilateral TKR done on 17 April 2021. Bending my knees only up to 70 degrees. So I'm now going for MUA at the end of July.
I wonder if the feeling of stiffness and pain ever get better after a year as I feel really frustrated about this feeling post-surgery.
