Partial reeplacement of medial surfaces on 12/20/2016. Spinal anesthesia with Versed. Total surgial time about 40 minutes. In at. 08:00, back in room having lubch by noon.

PT person was in for a dhort walk around the ward usisg a walker and waist strap for safety. Back to room. Meds were 7.5/325 Vicodin. No pain until next day. By the time I was on the way to the car for wife to drive me home pain was about 7-8. 2x Vicodin tabs every 4 hours barly controlling pain.

Used walker for days at no timee could I put left foot to touch floor, much less carry any weight. Going from beed toilet major struggle!

1st PT was 4 days after surgery, the only thing accomplished was some pain relief fron use og Game Ready circulating cold water abd compression around whole leg cebterd on knee.

2PT 1 week after surgry, some weight tolerated whilt using Walker some range of moyion sarted, By end of week major improveement with wigth bearibg. Therapist was amazed that I had 110 degrees of flxion. Bandage off 2 weeks after surgery, haling very good and I felt I was making good progress although pain meds still insufficient, Re quested and recived new RX 7.5/350 Percoset. This RX was sufficient for pain managenent.

4 week follo-up with surgon who told me good progress, flexiob up to 129 degrees but stiil had pain.

Further xray exam of right knee indicated that TKR was required so tenatve date on May11 for this.I was feeling very positive about proceding ubtil th end of that week!

Although sleep from time of surgery has been significant problem. Some nights as little as only 3 hours. Reason is pain would wake me, i would ice, take mor narcotics and maybe geet another 3-4 hours of sleep.

In past 1- days pain has increased dramatically, not at surgical site but immediately at bottom of thing on front abt on top of kneee and below knee on lateral side of shin from knee to foot. Icing no longer providing reief and the only relief is from increeasing use of 77.5 Percocet at 4-5 intravals,

PT techs do not have solution. The icreasing feelings of depreession is another problem, add to that thee fear of drug dependency noy helping..

I am feeeling more and more that I want to call surgeeeo and cancel the right knee job. If alll. The increasing pain is just from a PKA, what is the TKA going to feel like?

Any and all suggestions are welcome. Use FB, I hace bo mastered Twittr so giving up on that. By the way I am retired and will be 7- next week.

Sorry you're in such pain. I can relate. 12 days after full knee replacement I sometimes feel that I want to cut off my leg.

OXY helped, but made me depressed. I was lathargic, tired, woozy, and felt out of body. The doctor prescribed Norcos. Mentally and emotionally I felt better, but the pain became unbearable. Difficult to do my exercises. I've decided to go back to the OXY... and deal with the depression. I have no choice.

I keep reminding myself that this is healing pain and that soon I'll be saying goodbye to it. My life will be much better. In the meantime, however, my knee (leg) hurts like hell.

All the best... speedy recovery, Eydie :)
